Following the fire in 2025, the historic Listed building The Court on Rickmansworth Road has been left to decay.
Conservative councillors are pushing for Three Rivers to use its powers to require the owner to rebuild it at the owner’s cost.

Chorleywood Conservatives Oliver Cooper and Philip Hearn are planning experts. They asked Three Rivers to issue a Listed Building Enforcement Notice, as other councils have done from Westminster to the West Midlands.
That would make it a criminal offence for the owner not to rebuild the building as it was. However, Lib Dem-led Three Rivers are refusing to do this.
Our Conservative MP Gagan Mohindra raised this in Parliament and with the then-Deputy Prime Minister. The clear steer from the Government is that it would support taking this act. So why don’t we?
However, Three Rivers’ Lib Dem leadership has refused to act, saying it’s the police’s problem. This is wrong – planning is the job of the district council and unrelated to police investigations.
That’s why we need your help to persuade them to reverse their stance.
