The Metropolitan line to Amersham and Chesham is one of the longest stretches, just over 41 miles, of line on the TFL network. Trains run from the City, via Finchley Road, to Uxbridge, Watford, and Amersham/Chesham, with the Amersham/Chesham branch being the longest.
Many an infuriated traveller from any of the Three Rivers wards would have fumed waiting for an Amersham/Chesham train although there are always an abundance of trains to Uxbridge and Watford. But at least travellers on this longest stretch had express services that only stopped at Harrow before reaching Moor Park. Then, in 2011, Transport for London ceased the express service, other than at peak times, and travellers now endure a slow, journey with trains calling in at every station, including those already well served with trains from Watford and Uxbridge.
We are calling for the restoration of the express 'fast' service on the Amersham/Chesham branches. Please sign our petition below.
